Exploring Wisdom of the East
The University of Georgia Vedic Study Club is dedicated to studying and reflecting upon India's greatest spiritual epics - the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. Our mission is to uncover their timeless lessons on dharma (duty), self-discipline, leadership, and devotion, and to discuss how these teachings can guide us in today's world.
Through weekly study circles and discussions on personal experiences, members connect ancient philosophy to daily life while cultivating mindfulness and shared understanding. The club is open to students of all faiths and backgrounds, offering a space to explore the depth of Vedic wisdom and build a community grounded in reflection, respect, and growth.
"You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work. You should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should you long for inaction."- Bhagavad Gita 2.47
The Vedic Study Club was founded to create a space where students can explore the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharata - texts that have guided seekers for thousands of years. Our mission is to uncover the universal principles of dharma (righteous action), self-awareness, compassion, and devotion, and to reflect on how these values can bring balance and purpose to modern life.
We hope to build a long-lasting community rooted in wisdom, respect, and service - where students can cultivate both intellectual understanding and inner realization through the guidance of the great epics.
Our club offers diverse activities designed to help members engage deeply with Vedic wisdom and apply it to contemporary life.
